MOSCOW, March 23. /TASS/. Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta returned to Moscow on Friday, the republic’s diplomatic mission told TASS.

"He came back with a particular instruction from the Moldovan leadership to step up work on enhancing bilateral relations," the Embassy said.

The Moldovan Ambassador was recalled in December 2017 for consultations in Chisinau.

Last year, the Moldovan government introduced a range of anti-Russian steps, including declaring persona non grata Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who co-chairs the intergovernmental commission or economic cooperation and is special presidential envoy for Transnistria.

A group of Russian diplomats was expelled, and some Russian celebrities, public figures and journalists were banned from entering Moldova.
