MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov did not rule out the possibility of a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Rome on December 1.

"Such a meeting is possible," the diplomat said answering a question from a TASS correspondent on Thursday. "I am sure there is a mutual desire for such a contact, and this is matter of physical possibility."

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier said that Lavrov would pay a working visit to Italy on December 1. Russia’s top diplomat will hold talks with his Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano and take part in the Mediterranean Dialogues international conference.
