Anatoly Antonov replaces Sergei Kislyak, who rounded up his term of ambassadorial duties on July 22
WASHINGTON, August 31. /TASS/. The new Russian Ambassador to the US, Anatoly Ivanov, has arrived in Washington.
A TASS correspondent said in report from the arrivals lounge of the Dulles International Airport senior diplomats from the embassy had come to meet him. No newsmen were seen at the airport.
The jet landed slightly after the scheduled time.
Anatoly Antonov replaces Sergei Kislyak, who rounded up his term of ambassadorial duties in Washington on July 22.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Antonov Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on August 21, relieving him of duties of Deputy Foreign Minister at the same time.
