Russian PM offers condolences over St. Petersburg metro blast

Dmitry Medvedev has handed down instructions to provide assistance to injured in metro blast

GORKI, April 3. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has conveyed his condolences to the families and friends of people who died in Monday’s blast in the St. Petersburg metro, the prime minister’s press service said in a statement.

According to the press service, Medvedev also handed instructions to Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova to take steps in order to provide all the necessary assistance to the injured.

"The health minister has been ordered to take additional steps to provide them with medical assistance," the statement reads.

According to the St. Petersburg authorities, around 50 people were injured in the metro blast.
