Peskov on Ukraine blocking UNSC statement on Russia's late envoy: 'May God judge them'

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has declined to comment on Ukraine’s decision to block the UN Security Council’s statement concerning the death of Russia’s UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin.
"When we have just suffered such loss, this behavior on the part of our Ukrainian counterparts… May God judge them," Peskov told reporters when asked to comment on Ukraine’s step.
"It seems, there is no more to say," the Kremlin spokesman added. "After the Russian diplomacy has suffered such a loss, it is not that important."
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier wrote on Facebook that the Ukrainian delegation had blocked the United Nations Security Council’s statement dedicated to Churkin.
Vitaly Churkin died on February 20, a day before his 65th birthday. He had been Russia’s UN ambassador since April 8, 2006, representing the country in the United Nations Security Council. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ambassador died at his place of work.
