US still party to Iran nuclear deal — Lavrov
"A Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which resolved the problem of Iran’s nuclear program, remains in force," Russian Foreign Minister said
MUNICH, February 18. /TASS/. The United States will continue to monitor the Joint Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
"A Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which resolved the problem of Iran’s nuclear program, remains in force," Lavrov said. "The US continues to take part in monitoring the implementation of this document alongside other parties of this agreement."
Lavrov pointed out that Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano confirmed that Iran was fulfilling its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) brokered by the P5+1 group of world powers.
"We proceed from the fact that it will go ahead and all the other parties to this agreement need to fulfill their commitments, related to a complete removal of bans on economic cooperation and other ties with Iran, which were once imposed both by the UN Security Council and unilaterally by some participants in the negotiations," he said.
