Kremlin dismisses as ‘ludicrous’ new media reports on Putin’s influence on US elections
The presidential spokesman said he could only characterize these reports as "nonsense"
NAGATO (Japan), December 15. /TASS/. The Kremlin considers as ludicrous the media reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly personally influenced the results of the US presidential elections, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
The presidential spokesman said he could characterize these reports "as ludicrous nonsense."
These statements, like any nonsense, "cannot have any grounds," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Foreign Ministry on NBC report
The report about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s involvement in the US presidential election hacking, that was broadcast by NBC, is nothing but nonsense, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said.
"I was astonished when I saw it. I think, this is nothing but nonsense, there is not a chance that anybody could believe that."
NBC earlier alleged, citing high-ranking sources in the US secret services, that the Russian president was personally involved in efforts to alter the outcome of the US presidential elections in favor of Republican candidate Donald Trump.
