Lavrov regrets Obama administration continues unfriendly steps against Russia
Lavrov and Kerry discussed the ways of overcoming the conflict in Syria with the focus on the military and humanitarian situation in eastern Aleppo
MOSCOW, December 8. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told US Secretary of State John Kerry at the meeting in Hamburg on Wednesday he regrets that the Obama administration continues unfriendly steps against Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The sides discussed issues of bilateral relations on the sidelines of the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg. "Lavrov voiced regret that the Obama administration continues taking unfriendly steps in an attempt to undermine the basis of normal cooperation between Russia and the US before leaving," the ministry stressed.
Lavrov and Kerry discussed the ways of overcoming the conflict in Syria with the focus on the military and humanitarian situation in eastern Aleppo. "The sides agreed there is the need to resume the intra-Syrian talks under the UN auspices," the ministry said in a statement. "Lavrov said again that the key condition for settlement is the decisive fight against terrorist groups.".
