Putin assures Russia is ready to cooperate with new US administration

MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Russia is prepared to develop relations with the new US administration, President Vladimir Putin said in his state-of-the-nation address to the Federal Assembly on Thursday.
"We are ready for cooperation with the new US administration," the Russian president said. "It is important to normalize and start developing bilateral relations on an equal and mutually beneficial basis," Putin stressed.
The cooperation of Russia and the US in solving global and regional issues meets interests of the whole world, Putin said. "We have common responsibility for ensuring international security and stability and strengthening the non-proliferation regimes."
Billionaire Donald Trump, who was elected the 45th US president on November 8, is due to be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
On fighting terrorism
"We are counting on combining efforts with the United States to fight a real and not a fictional threat of global terrorism," Putin stated.
The president stressed that the Russian military are working hard on solving crisis in Syria, and as a result the "terrorists have suffered significant loses.
