Kremlin says internet will be given due attention during elections in Russia

According to Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, people in Russia "are much more broad-minded than the Internet allows for"

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The Internet is an important segment during election campaigns, but not a decisive one, Russian Presidential Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters on Monday.

"The Internet has always been given proper attention, and that will be the case in the future. It is a rather important segment but not a decisive one, especially in our country," the Kremlin spokesman noted, commenting on media reports saying that during the election campaign ahead of Russia’s 2018 presidential election it is planned to place special emphasis on the work with the voters online and in social media.

Peskov added that "our country and our people are much more broad-minded than the Internet allows for."
