Russian foreign minister to visit Turkey on December 1
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the fifth meeting of the Russia-Turkish joint group on strategic planning
MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a working visit to Turkey on December 1 to attend a meeting of the joint strategic planning group, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.
"On December 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a working visit to Turkey’s Antalya. He will take part in the fifth meeting of the Russia-Turkish joint group on strategic planning," she said.
Apart from that, the Russia top diplomat will discuss current international problems, including the situation in Syria, Southern Caucasus, Central Asia and Ukraine, and cooperation within international organizations.
According to Zakharova, Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, will discuss a forthcoming visit to Russia by Turkey Prime Minister Binali Yildirim. "The two foreign ministers will discuss issues to be put on the agenda of the [Russian-Turkish] top-level cooperation council and the Russian-Turkish talks at the level of heads of government during a working visit to Russia by Turkey’s prime minister," she said.
