Turkish business, political figures to eye Crimea’s investment potential
The Turkish delegation will spend three days in Crimea, visiting the cities of Yalta, Simferopol, Sevastopol and the Bakhchisaray region
SIMFEROPOL, November 23. /TASS/. A delegation of Turkish business figures and politicians arrived in Crimea on Wednesday to look into the Black Sea peninsula’s investment and tourism potential.
"The delegation is due to spend three days in Crimea, visiting the cities of Yalta, Simferopol, Sevastopol and the Bakhchisaray region. They will get familiarized with Crimea’s landmarks and will consider the region’s investment possibilities," Seitumer Nimetullayev, chairman of the Crimean Tatars’ regional public organization Crimea’s Unity, told reporters.
"We want to demonstrate that Crimea has been implementing the Russian presidential decrees on rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatar people, on three official languages, with Crimean Tatar among them," he said. "We want to show how many mosques are being constructed in Crimea. Moreover, Turkey’s business agencies are eager to invest in Crimea and we will showcase a very good climate for investments."
The Turkish delegation will be provided with a chance to make sure that after joining Russia, the multi-ethnic region lives a peaceful life and grows rapidly in spite of the sanctions, he said.
The Turkish delegation has brought together Hasan Cengiz, the head of the Turkish association of Eurasian governments and an authorized person of deputy head of Turkey’s General Directorate of Security, Ibrahim Erili, a Turkish presidential envoy, Ankara’s deputy mayor and Turkish business people, who plan to invest in Crimea. Overall, the delegation consists of 22 members.
On Thursday, a personal assistant of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his cousin Mehmet Mutlu, and a member of Turkish parliament from the ruling Justice and Development Party, Mahmut Malli, are expected to arrive in Crimea.
