The Trump administration will have a very difficult task of mending ties, the Kremlin aide said

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. The Kremlin hopes that the relations with the United States will improve in the future despite the efforts of the current Washington administration to send them into a dead end, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

"Of late, the outgoing team is making every effort to drive bilateral relations into a dead end. It will be rather difficult to pull them out of it if the new team wishes to do that," Ushakov said.

"But we hope that efforts will be taken in this direction, we are ready to go our part of the way," he said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has also said that Obama's administration is attempting to sour relations with Moscow by extending anti-Russia sanctions:

The diplomat said she regrets that "the White House is fully out of touch with reality and the instinctual drive of the outgoing administration of Barack Obama to do dirt in the end, although a lot has been done here."

"We hope that these destroyers and terminators of the Russian-US relations in Washington will be replaced by people who will care more about the bilateral ties and bilateral cooperation in all senses and aspects," she stressed.

The diplomat stressed that all the attempts to exert pressure on Russia through sanctions and isolation policy, boycotts and blockades have failed.
