Moscow confirms its bid "to develop bilateral relations with regard for the needs of Colombia’s post-conflict development," Maria Zakharova said
MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Moscow is ready to support the Colombian peace process, including at the UN Security Council, Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Monday in comments on completion of talks on a new peace agreement between the authorities of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
"We mark big job done by the sides to take into account the document’s numerous proposals and comments, submitted by different political forces and social groups," the commentary said.
"We express hope that the finalized agreements will make it possible to remove differences that emerged after October 2 plebiscite and will help to unite the Colombian people around the main goal — settlement of the lingering domestic armed conflict," Zakharova said.
The Russian Federation "is ready to continue providing necessary support to Colombia, including through closely watching the Colombian peace process as a permanent member of the UN Security Council," the commentary went on.
