MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. The apologies delivered by Turkey show that Ankara has analyzed the situation with the Russian bomber Su-24 downed over Syria last year, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"On our part, the situation was analyzed immediately," the spokeswoman said.

"If this had not been done, we wouldn’t have made such serious steps on the basis of a profound and serious analysis," the spokeswoman said.

According to Zakharova, the relevant analysis took place in Turkey.

"The apologies delivered to the Russian side are a proof of that," the diplomat said.

"As to how profound the analysis was, this issue should be addressed to Ankara," Zakharova said.

The crisis between Russia and Turkey emerged after a Turkish fighter jet shot down a Russian bomber Su-24 over Syria in November 2015.

In late June 2015, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed his apologies for the downed Russian plane, after which the relations between the two countries began to be normalized.
