Russia plans to keep up the pause in airstrikes judging from the real situation in Syria

BERN, October 20. /TASS/. The work on adopting Syria’s new constitution should be stepped up to hold early elections and adopt mutually beneficial solutions for the conflicting sides, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said on Thursday commenting on the Berlin meeting.

The senator said the leaders of Germany and France, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande, were informed of what may be and needs to be done in the near future for successful fight against terrorism and restoration of peace in Syria, the upper house’s press service said in a statement.

"It is important here to decisively intensify the work on adopting the new constitution and holding early elections on its basis and finding mutually beneficial decisions for all the conflicting sides," the document said.

Matviyenko said at the three-party meeting between the Russian, German and French leaders it was announced that the Russian side plans to keep up the pause in airstrikes judging from the real situation in Syria.
