Russia-China relations are at their best, says Chinese ambassador
"The two countries’ leaders have established trust-based, friendly relations," Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui said
MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. The current Russia-China relations are at their best, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui said on Monday.
"Today, the Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership see the best period in their history. I’d rather say they are on the rise," he said.
"The two countries’ leaders have established trust-based, friendly relations. The number of their meetings in one year is very big and they are optimistic about further development of relations between our countries," he said.
He reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin had paid an official visit to China in June 2016 and had attended a G20 summit in China’s Hangzhou where he had also had bilateral talks with China’s President Xi Jinping.
"It is important for us how Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed the Hangzhou summit, China’s economy in general and trade and economic relations between China and Russia, as well as Russia’s position on the South China Sea," the Chinese ambassador noted.
"All this demonstrates that partnership between the two countries is really comprehensive and strategic. Both countries share objective and fair positions on the international arena, work together to build new, cooperation-based international relations that are to play a major role in maintaining international peace and stability," Li Hui underscored.
