Russia wants to set up joint fund with Japan to develop urban environment

According to Russia’s Minister Alexander Galushka, the Japanese side "was also invited to participate in the creation of new territories of advanced development and industrial parks in the Far East"

TOKYO, September 7 /TASS/. Russia has proposed to Japan to consider the idea of ··creating a joint fund for the development of urban environment, Russia’s Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Galushka said at a briefing after the meeting with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko on Wednesday.

"We have asked the Japanese side to consider the creation of a joint Russian-Japanese fund for the development of urban environment, bearing in mind it is very bright and expressive appeal of Prime Minister Abe (during his speech at the Eastern Economic Forum - TASS.) to develop Vladivostok," Galushka said.

According to him, the Japanese side "was also invited to participate in the creation of new territories of advanced development and industrial parks in the Far East."

Galushka is on a visit to Japan, which became an extension to the recent negotiations at the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) in Vladivostok. At the forum the Japanese delegation was led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, while Seco, who was previously appointed as the Minister responsible for the development of economic relations with Russia, became one of the key members of the Japanese delegation.
