Moscow hopes Daraya experience for militants’ pullout will extend to entire Syria
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stressed that separating the opposition and terrorists in Syria remains a key task in the Russia-US dialog on the Syrian settlement
MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. Moscow hopes that the experience of the community of Daraya, from which militants were pulled out, will be used across Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
"In the Damascus suburb of Daraya, an end was put to the presence of militants there. The authorities took efforts to allow irreconcilable jihadists to leave for Idlib along a safe corridor," she said.
"The Russian side hopes that the Daraya experience will be used to stop fighting on the entire territory of Syria," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman has also stressed that separating the opposition and terrorists in Syria remains a key task in the Russia-US dialog on the Syrian settlement.
"As for disagreements, the most important task is not being solved today. These are the issues of separating the opposition and terrorists," she said.
"The United States said it would take just two weeks for its experts to separate the opposition and terrorists. But nothing has been done," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
"The necessary element is not in place for the Syria Support Group to implement the entire package of documents. It is impossible to start really destroying terrorists as long as some countries are not withdrawing the opposition from terrorist groups," the spokeswoman aid.
