MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. Sergei Ivanov, who has been relieved of his duties as chief of the Kremlin administration, might be seen as a candidate "for any key position," Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said on Friday.

"Ivanov has been serving the country faithfully and loyally. And I don’t rule out that staying on a ‘sidetrack’ he might be seen as a candidate for any key positions," Zyuganov told TASS.

He noted that rotation within the team is a logical process for any leader and Anton Vaino’s appointment as head of the presidential administration was no surprise. "Vaino has been working with the president day and night. He knows his job inside out having ascended all the steps of career ladder. Nothing surprising about that," he said.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin relieved Sergei Ivanov of his duties of the chief of the Kremlin administration and appointed him his special envoy for environmental activity, ecology and transport. Anton Vaino was appointed chief of the presidential administration.
