Putin doesn’t share Renzi’s view on Brexit consequences
The president doen't agree that if there are no changes in Europe it would mean its end
ST. PETERSBURG, June 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday he does not share Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s opinion about the consequences of Great Britain’s exit from the European Union.
"Our Italian friend has somewhat frightened me saying that if there are no changes in Europe it will mean its end. It sounds frightening. Frankly speaking, I don’t think so," Putin said summing up the results of discussions at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
"Europe is Europe. The fundamental bases of Europe’s economy give grounds to believe that it will not be an end to Europe in any case, whatever internal processes might take place there," he said.
The European Union, according to the Russian leader, is Russia’s biggest trade and economic partner and both Russia and the European Union want their relations to be more dynamic.
