Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei says Minsk and Moscow are constructively cooperating in both bilateral and multilateral formats
MINSK, May 16. /TASS/. Minsk and Moscow are constructively cooperating in both bilateral and multilateral formats, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said on Monday at talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
"We have absolutely no divergences. There is a clear understanding of how we should move forward both in bilateral relations and in integrational structures, international organizations," Makei said.
He positively assessed the fact that "our meetings are held regularly and often," in particular in the framework of sessions of the joint collegium of foreign ministries of the two countries. "We meet twice every year, discuss in detail our bilateral relations, cooperation in integrational structures and international organizations," the foreign minister reminded.
Makei noted that yesterday and today he "already held open constructive conversations (with Lavrov) like it happens between friends."
Lavrov, in turn, noted: "There issues on which we have to negotiate but the main thing is that we do not bluff, do not hide anything from the other party. Instead, we voice our concerns and proposals like true friends do."
