Five foreign NGOs recognized as unwelcome in Russia — prosecutor general

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, those NGOs are threatening the constitutional system foundations

MOSCOW, April 27. /TASS/. Five foreign non-governmental organizations that are threatening the constitutional system foundations have been recognized as unwelcome in Russia, Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika said on Wednesday.

"As of today, the Prosecutor General’s Office has made a decision to recognize unwelcome five foreign NGOs that are threatening the constitutional system foundations," Chaika said at the Federation Council upper house of parliament.

According to the prosecutor general, "last year efforts were made to get rid of foreign influence on the socio-political situation in Russia." He added that the activity of 10 organizations has been banned in the country as they have been recognized extremist and terrorist.
