Kremlin: Russia committed to INF Treaty but has claims to US on treaty fulfillment
The Kremlin spokesman didn’t specify the claims saying it's an issue for expert discussion
MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Russia is committed to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) but has some claims to the United States on the treaty’s fulfillment. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
"In this case, the Russian side keeps its commitments to the INF Treaty and we confirm our principled commitment to the INF Treaty," Peskov told journalists.
"We consider some US claims to us unfounded. In turn, we have some claims to the United States over the INF Treaty fulfillment," the Kremlin spokesman said.
The Kremlin spokesman didn’t specify the claims saying it's an issue for expert discussion.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman said he was confident that "such serious themes should hardly be discussed through an exchange of reproaches and this is an issue for expert negotiations."
"We can only state with regret that at present we can see a deficit of possibilities for such a dialog owing to the well-known reasons," Peskov said.
