Diplomat: CIA director’s visit to Russia unrelated to pullout of Russian forces from Syria

CIA chief John Brennan has visited Moscow for talks with his colleagues from Russia’s Federal Security Service

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan’s recent visit to Moscow was unrelated to the withdrawal of the main part of the Russian Aerospace Force group from Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of antiterrorism issues Oleg Syromolotov told reporters on Monday.

"CIA chief John Brennan has indeed visited Moscow," he said. "This visit was unrelated to the Russian forces’ withdrawal from Syria."

According to Syromolotov, the CIA head talked to his colleagues from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). He said that during the visit the sides focused mainly on Russia-US confidence building matters.
