Putin hails Chechnya’s striking transformation over recent years
According to the Russian president, "very talented people primarily focused on creative work, care about the life of their republic and Russia as a whole" live in Chechnya
MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the North Caucasus Republic of Chechnya had transformed considerably over the past few years.
"We know in what state the social sphere was and how all these tragic events in North Caucasus, first of all, affected human lives but we always considered, and the first president of the republic always formulated as his main task the work on improving the living standards and the security of citizens in Chechnya," Putin said, addressing Chechnya Head Ramzan Kadyrov.
As the Russian president said, "very talented people primarily focused on creative work, care about the life of their republic and Russia as a whole" live in Chechnya.
"And this is the main task of the head of any region in the Russian Federation, first of all, the leadership of Russia and, naturally, of the Chechen Republic," Putin said.
According to the Russian president, Chechnya has transformed not only externally.
"There are, without any exaggeration, flourishing populated settlements in the places where there were ruins and destroyed towns and villages. New buildings are growing and multiplying and they can be the subject of pride not only for Chechnya and the Caucasus. This can be the subject of pride for Russia to a certain extent," the head of state said, noting also the development of the social life and sports in the Chechen Republic.
Putin asked Kadyrov to pay attention to the problem of unemployment among the youth. "In this sphere, you need to work and work not formally. You’re good at this. I need to say it straightforward and I already told you some time ago that you have suddenly turned into a good manager from a person who was set on completely different purposes and guidelines in life, so to speak. This is the demand of the Chechen people and you qualify for this demand," Putin told Kadyrov.
The Chechen leader thanked Putin for trust and the high level of his work’s assessment and informed the Russian president that a gathering had been held recently in Chechnya to commemorate the republic’s first head, Akhmad Kadyrov.
"It can be said that that the rally gathered the entire population of the republic and they confirmed that they are truthful to the course of the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, and that there will never be any military campaigns, terrorism or extremism in the republic," Kadyrov said.
The Chechen leader said that the republic’s residents had long dreamt about this time.
"Thank you for the trust and I’ll try to justify it and serve faithfully," Kadyrov said.
