Ramzan Kadyrov’s current term of office expires on March 5, 2016
MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. The Kremlin still has no comments to offer who might lead the republic of Chechnya after the powers of its current leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, expire on March 5, 2016.
"I cannot answer this question for now. I have no information. There still is some time anyway," presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Earlier, Kadyrov said he was prepared to quit, adding that some member of his inner circle might be proposed for the post. Should he fail to retain the post of Chechnya’s leader, Kadyrov said, he would dedicate himself to rearing children and to home affairs.
