Lavrov, Mogherini discuss Russia-EU relations, situation in Syria, Ukraine

MUNICH, February 11 /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini have discussed on Thursday relations between Russia and the EU, the prospects of the Syrian settlement and the situation in Ukraine. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, their meeting was held "on the sidelines" of the Munich Security Conference.
"During the conversation, (the two sides) discussed topical issues of the Russian-EU relations and the international agenda, including the prospects of the Syrian settlement and the situation in Ukraine," the ministry said.
Earlier in the day, Lavrov has held bilateral meetings with US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. A meeting of the International Syria Support Group will be held in the Bavarian capital later on Thursday.
The International Syria Support Group held its last meeting in Vienna on November 14. It was attended by delegations of 19 countries, including Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Italy, Egypt, Britain, Germany, Lebanon, Qatar, Iran, France, China, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Oman.
EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini; UN Special Envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura and a League of Arab States (LAS) representative also took part in the consultations.
