"Kiev wrongly thinks it can implement the Minsk agreements ‘partially.’ It is self-deception. Europe’s attitude to Kiev will only worsen," he said

MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. Ukraine will not be able to implement the Minsk agreements only partially, a Russian lawmaker said on Monday.

"Kiev wrongly thinks it can implement the Minsk agreements ‘partially.’ It is self-deception. Europe’s attitude to Kiev will only worsen," Alexei Pushkov, the chairman of the international committee of the Russian State Duma lower parliament house, wrote on his Twitter account.

Kiev’s representative at the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Ukrainian settlement, Roman Bessmertny, said on Sunday Ukraine should implement only those of the Minsk accords’ provisions that do not run counter to the Ukrainian laws. "I adhere to the concept of observing Ukraine’s constitution and laws and the Minsk documents are mere agreements for me. They are to be implemented only where they don’t run counter of the Ukrainian laws and nothing is to be done which works against Ukraine’s unity and stability," he said in an interview with Insider.

He said he was skeptical about the provision of Donbass’ special status as posing a threat to the rest of Ukraine when implemented.
