MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. Moscow is seriously worried over Islamic State’s seeking to spread its influence in Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

"Actions of the Islamic State group, which is prohibited in Russia, to spread its influence to more Afghan provinces are casuing serious concern," she said. "Efforts to establish contacts between Kabul and Taliban have not yielded serious results so far."

She said that the second meeting of the four-lateral Contact Group (Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and the United States) that had been held in Kabul on January 18 had agreed only a part of the roadmap to organize such talks. "We expect results from a meeting due to take place in Islamabad on February 6," she added.
