Russia sends its 48th humanitarian aid convoy to Ukraine’s Donbas

More than 100 trucks are delivering over 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including foodstuffs, medications and New Year gifts
MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry sent its 48th humanitarian aid convoy to Ukraine’s troubled Donbas region early on Thursday morning, the ministry’s press service told TASS on Wednesday.
According to the press service, the convoy set off from the Donskoi emergencies center in Russia’s southern Rostov Region at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 GMT) and headed for the Russian border with Ukraine.
More than 100 trucks are delivering over 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including foodstuffs, medications and New Year gifts.
Since August 2014, Russia has delivered more than 57,000 tons of humanitarian cargos to Ukraine’s embattled Donbas region.
The ministry said earlier it will continue delivering aid in 2016.
