Kremlin denies reports of having "immunity plan" for Russian prosecutor general
Russia's Anti-Corruption Foundation published on December 1 a report claiming that it has exposed a number of "grey" financial schemes allegedly organised by the prosecutor general's family members
MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The Kremlin has no "immunity plan" for Prosecutor-General Yuri Chaika, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told the media.
"There is no immunity plan. Nor are there any untouchables," he said, when asked for a comment regarding rumors there had been a plan for maintaining Chaika’s immunity.
"There have been some speculations in the RBC Daily without any specific examples or references," Peskov said about the publication.
"The authorities have shaped their attitude to publications by the Navalny Fund about businesses run by members of the prosecutor-general’s family," the RBC Daily said. "There will be no investigation. The question of prolonging Chaika’s powers will be decided regardless of the scandal. Navalny and the Fund for Struggle against Corruption are to be discredited," the article runs.
The website of the Anti-Corruption Foundation published on December 1 a report claiming that it has exposed a number of "grey" financial schemes allegedly organised by the prosecutor general's family members.
Chaika said he had "no doubts W. Browder and special services standing behind him" ordered the investigation.
The Kremlin said the information from the report was not interesting as it referred to the prosecutor general's adult sons, and not Yuri Chaika in himself.
