Russian PM urges all countries to join forces in combating international terrorism
"I am deeply convinced that we should be together in this struggle," Dmitry Medvedev says
MANILA, November 18. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called on all countries to join forces in the fight against international terrorism. "I am deeply convinced that we should be together in this struggle," the Russian prime minister told reporters upon arrival in Manila.
Medvedev noted that, being divided, Russia and other countries will be able to somehow counter terrorism. The question is at what price.
"Of course, Russia can live without these contacts," he said. "We will continue to confront terrorism in the same way as before and we will win this fight. The West will, probably, withstand as well. The question is: at what price?" he said.
According to the Russian Prime Minister, the spread of terrorism is a challenge to the entire civilized world, which requires a joint response.
"The recent terrorist attacks in Russia and France have affected the entire world," he said speaking at the APEC CEO summit. "The spreading of terrorism is a global challenge to the entire world, and this challenge requires a joint response, coordinated and consolidated action."
"An explosion in the Russian plane over the Sinai Peninsula, which claimed the lives of 224 people, the mass murder of people in Paris is not a crime against a single country. This is a crime against the entire world, and we should confront terrorists together," the Russian premier said.
