MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. The Kremlin is aware of the Interstate Aviation Committee’s decision to suspend operations of Boeing-737 aircraft in Russia and believes the government will review the situation appropriately, press secretary to the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
"Fairly prompt and deep analysis of the situation in domestic aviation is required. No doubts the relevant agency - the Ministry of Transport and the government will definitely perform the required analysis in this case," Kremlin’s representative said.
Peskov said he knows about the situation from mass media reports. "We in the Kremlin also monitor sounded decisions," he added.
The Interstate Aviation Committee said earlier in the letter it was suspending the certificate for all Boeing-737 aircraft in Russia until receiving a joint notice of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration on the aircraft airworthiness.
IAC letter signed by the Air Register Chairman Vladimir Bespalov says Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency was in correspondence with the relevant US authority concerning urgent improvements of Boeing-737 aircraft rudder control system.
This aircraft type is at the same time one of the most frequently used by Russian air carriers. In particular, these airplanes were in the fleet of Russia’s Transaero airline.
