"They have constructive and working relations which allow to ask rather acute questions and to avoid any misunderstanding," Dmitry Peskov said

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said that President Vladimir Putin did not accidentally call the U.S. President Barack Obama by his first name at a news conference.

"They (Putin and Obama) call each other Vladimir and Barack," Peskov said in an interview with Sergey Brilev, the host of the Vesti (News) on Saturday television programme.

"They have constructive and working relations which allow to ask rather acute questions and to avoid any misunderstanding," he said.

Earlier, Putin said that his talks with U.S. president on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly were "surprisingly frank." The two heads of state "have found many common points but there are some differences.".

Obama has nothing to answer back to Putin over Ukraine

The U.S. side had no counter arguments to respond to Russian President Vladimir Putin at his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday, Dmitry Peskov, said in an interview.

"On Monday at the meeting with President Obama Ukraine was in the focus of the discussion," Peskov said. "What is more interesting, I would say that the U.S. side had no arguments to debate [the Russian] president’s reasons."

"Let’s say, the conversation was constructive but certainly, we cannot speak about an exchange of opinions that could have strengthened mutual understanding," he said. "Our American partners are not apt to show any flexibility and are not willing to take in the others’ arguments."

Peskov noted that Syria, besides Ukraine, was also on the table of the talks.

"The conversation was much longer that scheduled despite that fact that the timeframes are planned down to the last minute at such international events," Peskov said.
