GORKI, September 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Prime Minister has ordered the government to consider counter measures in response to Kiev’s decision to ban flights of Russian airlines over Ukraine, Natalya Timakova, spokespersons of the Russian Prime Minister told reporters.

"Medvedev ordered the Transport Ministry to consider a possibility to introduce counter measures against Ukrainian airlines," she said.

Earlier on Monday, Russia’s flagship carrier Aeroflot said it had received a notification from Ukraine banning flights to its territory from October 25.

Besides Aeroflot Ukraine’s sanctions list comprises about 20 Russian airlines. According to a statement on the website of Ukraine’s President, the document partially or totally bans transport and transit flights of Russian carriers over the territory of Ukraine.

In particular, the "black list" includes three subsidiaries of Aeroflot - Rossiya, Donavia and Orenburg airlines, and Russia’s second largest airline Transaero, which recently came under the operational control of Aeroflot.

The paper also features such major carriers as S7 /Siberia/which is the third largest carrier in terms of traffic and Ural Airlines, which ranks fifth in terms of transportation.

In addition, the list includes Globus, VIM-Avia, Kogalymavia, Gazpromavia and Red Wings airlines. All these carriers are in the top thirty of the largest airlines in Russia.
