A spokesperson for the embassy added that Swiss neutrality has ceased to exist

GENEVA, November 8. /TASS/. The policy pursued by Bern has buried Switzerland’s reputation as a universal mediator and a neutral venue, a spokesperson for the Russian Embassy in Switzerland told TASS.

The official Bern's unfriendly policy and the ruling elites’ alignment with the Western line "have led to a loss of trust in the confederation as a neutral venue," the official noted. The press service "has to state that Swiss neutrality has actually ceased to exist."

"The freezing of Russian assets, the indiscriminate copying of EU and US sanctions packages, and Switzerland's progressive alignment with NATO have buried the confederation's reputation as a universal mediator," the diplomatic mission representative added.

On November 4, Switzerland expanded anti-Russian sanction lists by adding 254 individuals, companies and organizations. It was noted that the changes were made in accordance with the 21st package of the EU sanctions and subsequent decisions of the European Union.
