Russia has right to retaliate to unfriendly actions by other countries — Foreign Ministry
Maria Zakharova commented on Sergey Shoigu's statement, that specialists are being trained in Poland and the Baltic states whose activities are aimed at undermining Russia from within
MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. Russia’s foreign policy concept says it has the right to take asymmetric and symmetric measures in response to unfriendly actions by other countries, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
The diplomat was commenting on a statement by Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu, who said that specialists are being trained in Poland and the Baltic states whose activities are aimed at undermining Russia from within.
"For example, take the foreign policy concept, clause 26, which was adopted on March 31, 2023. This clause states: in the event that foreign states commit unfriendly actions that pose a threat to Russia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, our country considers it legitimate to take symmetrical and asymmetrical measures necessary to suppress such unfriendly actions, as well as to prevent their recurrence in the future," she said at a news briefing.
