No prospects for new security architecture in South Caucasus
Western countries and Western blocs will not be able to ensure the region's stability and they are not going to, Maria Zakharova noted
MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. The outlook for an alternative security system in the South Caucasus is dim, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"The prospects for forming an alternative security architecture in the South Caucasus are not visible. Western countries and Western blocs, which are doing everything they can to get into the region with their own standards of military construction and governance, simply will not be able to ensure its stability, and they are not going to. This is also due to obvious geographical reasons, and their political goals and objectives are completely opposite. So, taking all the factors into account, we can say that they won’t be providing that very security," she said at a news briefing.
