Russia’s Battlegroup North deploys next-gen stealth drone for reconnaissance near Kharkov
Thanks to its design, the drone operates silently and lands quietly
BELGOROD, November 5. /TASS/. Russian forces have carried out reconnaissance of strategic areas in the Kharkov Region using the new Zala Z drone, without being detected by the Ukrainian armed forces, an engineer-technician of the Battlegroup North’s 6th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 11th Army Corps, with the call sign Vesyoly, told TASS.
Thanks to its design, the drone operates silently and lands quietly, he said.
"The Zala Z has a very quiet motor. Using the drone, our troops conducted reconnaissance in the Kharkov Region at low altitudes. The unmanned aerial vehicle’s (UAV) motor is silent and very powerful, allowing us to move unnoticed around the enemy. It’s equipped with an excellent rear-facing camera, which lets us observe everything during its 90-minute flight time. The Zala Z lands on the ground like an airplane, it doesn’t have a parachute, which helps us remain undetected during reconnaissance," the soldier said.
Vesyoly also noted that the drone’s battery charge is sufficient to conduct reconnaissance over an area 70 km away before returning to the Russian forces’ UAV control center.
