MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Moscow welcomes the October 26 meeting between Iran’s leadership and representatives of the Mecca Pact countries, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

"We welcome the high-level meeting held in Tehran on October 26 between Iran and members of the so-called Mecca Pact. Constructive dialogue between neighbors, rebuilding mutual trust and respecting one another’s security interests are extremely important. This approach underpins Russia’s concept for collective security in the Persian Gulf, which aims to help establish an indivisible security architecture in this strategically important region, free from destructive outside interference," she said.
