MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russia hopes for the soonest normalization of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz with due account of the interests of both regional nations and countries that want to use this waterway, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"We hope that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will return to normal as soon as possible, with due regard for the legitimate interests of both the states having access to the strait and countries that want to use this waterway, which is critical to the global economy, freely and safely," she said. "This fully applies to Iran, which is facing an illegal naval blockade by the United States."
