BRICS building new type of international relations — senior Russian MP
According to Pyotr Tolstoy, a distinctive feature of such relations is that countries are not divided into "civilized and less civilized" ones
MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Relations between BRICS nations are an example of international cooperation of a new type, which is based on the principles of a multipolar world, a senior Russian lawmaker said.
"We are building international relations of a new type. BRICS an example of international relations in the new multipolar world that will replace the current Western-centric world," Pyotr Tolstoy, chairman of the international committee of Russia’s State Duma, or lower house of Russian parliament, told a news conference.
According to Tolstoy, a distinctive feature of such relations is that countries are not divided into "civilized and less civilized" ones. "There is mutual respect for each other's uniqueness, historical traditions, and histories. No political dogmas or cliches are imposed. The focus is exclusively on mutually beneficial cooperation," he stressed.
