Putin calls Nord Stream bombing full-blown terrorism
The Russian president added that the global gas industry is experiencing other shocks, including a worsening situation in the Middle East
MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The bombing of Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipelines is a direct terrorist act, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit.
"Direct terrorist acts were committed against Russian gas pipelines running to Europe. They were blown up," he said.
Putin noted that the global gas industry is experiencing other shocks, including a worsening situation in the Middle East, a global gas center, disruption of customary logistics chains and supply routes, and international barriers to the purchase of specialized equipment and technologies.
Two lines of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines running from Russia to Europe were bombed in 2022 leaving only one line of Nord Stream-2 theoretically operational. Russia’s Prosecutor General's Office initiated a case on an act of international terrorism. The timeframe for restoring the pipes’ functionality is impossible to set.
