Russian companies have competencies for exploration to search for all types of mineral resources in Africa and the priorities for exploration areas are determined based on the requests of the countries, the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment told TASS ahead of the third Russia-Africa Summit.

"As for the types of raw materials, Russian organizations have competencies in the field of prospecting and evaluating deposits of all types of mineral resources. Priorities are determined based on the mineral resource potential of a specific country, as well as upon relevant requests from African partners," the ministry noted.

Furthermore, Russia's scientific and technological expertise makes it possible to strengthen cooperation with African nations in studying mineral raw materials, determining the composition and properties of minerals and ore, and assessing the prospects for their industrial use, the ministry added.

The third Russia-Africa Summit will take place in Moscow on October 28-29.
