MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Developing unified legal definitions of concepts such as colonialism, neocolonialism, and reparative justice would help prevent political opponents from exploiting gaps in international law, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia party, said at the third meeting of the standing committee of the For the Freedom of Nations! movement.

"I propose organizing a research seminar under the auspices of our movement’s expert council, bringing together leading legal scholars from countries of the ‘global majority.’ Its primary objective would be to develop unified, legally sound definitions of key concepts, including colonialism, neocolonialism, and reparative justice, as well as a range of other terms. Our opponents routinely exploit the fact that certain concepts and legal definitions remain absent from international law," Medvedev noted.

He explained that these clearly formulated and harmonized interpretations could subsequently be incorporated into international legal instruments and the domestic legislation of states participating in the For the Freedom of Nations! movement.
