EU’s attempts to preserve criminal regime in Kiev to fail — Russian diplomat
Dmitry Polyansky stressed that Europe is well aware of the conditions under which Moscow is ready to negotiate
VIENNA, October 22. /TASS/. Moscow will not agree to a new round of "Minsk agreements" and a "freeze" that would allow the criminal authorities in Kiev to stay in power, as it has lost trust in the EU and Ukraine, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE Dmitry Polyansky said at a regular meeting of the organization’s Permanent Council.
"In fact, it’s not just [Vladimir] Zelensky who is not interested in this [a full-fledged peace], but also his European sponsors, who once already tried to undermine the understandings that would lead to a long-term and sustainable peace - the understandings reached by the Russian and American presidents in Anchorage a little over a year ago. Their main goal now is to secure a truce and again impose on us a settlement based on the 'Minsk agreements,' which they themselves violated. I want to reaffirm this specifically for them: it will not happen. We no longer have any trust in you [Europeans] or in your Kiev proteges. You are well aware of the conditions under which we are ready to negotiate, and your attempts to 'preserve' the criminal Kiev authorities will not succeed. We are not interested in this, and neither are ordinary Ukrainians, who have already suffered enough at the hands of Zelensky’s clique, which has deprived them of the right to speak and the right to choose the future for their country," the diplomat said.
