Senior Russian diplomat admits searching for solution to Ukrainian conflict ‘not easy’
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized that it is essential to address the root causes of this conflict and to resolve the situation that led to the emergence of the crisis
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, October 22. /TASS/. The search for ways to settle the conflict is not easy, but Russia proceeds from the fact that any solution must ensure the most reliable resolution of the fundamental problems that made the launch of the special military operation inevitable, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated at the Nizhny Novgorod Economic Forum.
"Currently, the focus is on everything related to settling the crisis in and around Ukraine. Finding a way forward is no easy task. We cannot abandon the fundamental principle that any solution - whether political or military, should political and diplomatic methods fail - must ensure the most reliable settlement of the underlying problems that made the launch of the special military operation inevitable," the senior diplomat noted.
Ryabkov emphasized that "it is absolutely essential to address the root causes and underlying factors of this conflict and to resolve the situation that led to the emergence of this acute crisis.".
