MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. The system of international relations is undergoing a profound transformation, with new centers of power emerging, Sergey Naryshkin, Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), has said.

"The system of international relations is undergoing a profound transformation: new centers of power are rising, while an increasing number of countries and peoples are drawing strength from their traditional values and historical heritage," Naryshkin said. He was speaking at the international academic conference The Formation of a Multipolar World, held to mark the 95th birthday of Academician Alexander Chubaryan, research director of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and co-chair of the Russian Historical Society (RHS), which Naryshkin chairs.

According to Naryshkin, the emergence of a multipolar world creates unprecedented opportunities for the global majority. "At the same time, however, it raises complex questions about developing new mechanisms for reconciling interests and ensuring collective security," he emphasized.

Naryshkin also highlighted Chubaryan’s extensive experience and its value in addressing a wide range of historical issues. He noted that Chubaryan has earned recognition as an authority among several generations of researchers.
