Russian forces to sweep liberated Dobropolye for scattered enemy groups — Donetsk leader
Only Russian servicemen can provide the necessary assistance during the initial stage of civilian evacuation, Denis Pushilin added
MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Russian forces will have to clear the liberated town of Dobropolye from scattered Ukrainian army groups and determine whether any civilians in need of assistance remain, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Head Denis Pushilin said.
"The liberation of Dobropolye has become a very important event. Much work will, undoubtedly, have to be carried out to clear it from the enemy, inspect every basement, every possible shelter and check the presence of the enemy, on the one hand, and whether there have been civilians there who need help," the DPR head said.
Only Russian servicemen can provide the necessary assistance during the initial stage of civilian evacuation, he added.
Considerable work will have to be carried out by all the relevant services, he stressed.
An operation to mop up the town will also be uneasy, he added.
On October 16, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to President Vladimir Putin that Russia’s Battlegroup Center had liberated Dobropolye in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Dobropolye was one of the few remaining major Ukrainian army defensive areas in the Donetsk region.
